Day 1 – ‘B Road’ biking

The first day included passing by Bosworth Battle field, rain in Market Bosworth, climbing the summit of The Beacon in NW Leicestershire, traversing the NE Leicestershire plain, crossing the river Trent and reaching Southwell with its very own Minster. Bursts of rain made comfort and vision difficult.

(Cycling lessons: its possible to route through some fantastic tiny lanes where cars don’t go and to ride for miles like this. I love this but its tricky as there are minimal signs and I rely on a simple GPS app pinpointing my location at every turn. This makes it slow but lovely cycling.)
